HK to Tokyo
Having had a few hours off the airplane, I met up with Yale in the Hong Kong airport and we share a few good laughs. Both of us are still in disbelief that this trip is actually occurring. Seriously, Yale was in the Philippines yesterday and then he flew to Hong Kong to meet up with me. Now, we're traveling to Tokyo and we're going to spend one week on the main island. It's incredible! I'm so happy and lucky that I get to do this trip.
This posting probably catches me in better spirits than my flight over. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that we were to be traveling on another Boeing 747 to Japan. The best part is that the flight was pretty empty! Yale and I both took our own 4-seat sections; it was my turn to sprawl out. Also, Cathay continues to amaze me with the high-quality food they serve, especially to economy class passengers. These hot meals are delicious!
As the end of this flight is coming up, I'm thinking that I'll have a pretty good day in Tokyo. I have no idea what I'm going to do. I'm hoping that my friend, Maurine, has Facebook'd me back with her phone number, so I can meet up with her tomorrow. Otherwise, I have no idea what Yale and I are going to do in Tokyo. It should be fun though. I can't wait to use my broken Japanese to get us around. It's been nearly 5 years since I really spoke Japanese, so we'll see how I do.
